ahoj na fóru,

  mám instalnutý linux distribuce Debian Wheezy s prostředím KDE na ntbk HP elitebook 8570p.

ale dochází naprosto náhodně k mrznutí (tuhnutí) systému, kde nereaguje nic. Ani klávesnice ani myš, a ani kombinace kláves. Vypnutí musí dojít natvrdo delším stiskem tlačítka zap/vyp.
1) Jak zjistit proč to tuhne
2) Jak se jmenuje balík pro správu dodatečných ovladačů, nejde mi otestovat grafická karta na 3D a mám pocit že by to mohla dělat právě ona, respektive její ovladače

To zda ti funguje akcelerace, lze ověřit příkazem:

$ glxinfo | less | grep Yes

Aplikace pro správu ovladačů, kterou hledá a znáš jí pravděpodobně z Ubuntu, v Debianu není. Myslím, že na Ubuntu se jmenuje Jockey. Můžeš vyzkoušet novější verzi ovladače z Experimentalu, já ho používám spolu s jádrem 3.7 a po doinstalování firmwaru funguje výborně.

Jinak prostředí KDE nepoužívám, takže dále neporadím.

OK je tam jen Intel. V tom případě bych zkusil nový kernel 3.7 z experimentalu a k tomu i ovladač intel od tamtéž. Kernel 3.7 by měl být co se podpory intel karet týká opět zase lepší. Pokud bys nevěděl jak na to, tak se ptej.

EDIT: Pokud budeš instalovat kernel 3.7, tak nainstaluj i tyto dva balíky:

$ sudo aptitude install iucode-tool intel-microcode

Ten notebook ma podla webu (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06a/321957-321957-64295-3740645-3955549-5212912.html?dnr=1) IvyBridge procesor a QM77 chipset.
Jadro 3.2 nema este dobru podporu pre IvyBridge (prave pre graficku cast procesora), takze pri pouziti integrovanej grafiky to mrzne - vid http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=689268. Ak sa integrovana grafika vypne, tak to nemrzne. Pravdepodobne je problem v ovladaci grafiky Intel HD4000.
Novsie jadro by to mohlo vyriesit (udajne od 3.5 to uz nemrzne).

díky, byl jsem postrčen na správnou cestu. prozatím jsem doinstaloval uvedené balíky a zdá se, že se neseká. Pokud se sekne i potom, instalnu nové jádro z experimentálu. rád bych to řešil postupně, abych věděl kde je faktická chyba.
